Another year rolls by and another Valentine's day is here. This one is so much colder than any other I remember. It was 0 degrees Fahrenheit today when I awoke. Perhaps I should have a made a much larger quilt, one I could snuggle under rather than just look at! This is my Big Love wall hanging, made using one of the patterns in my book Go Big, Go Bold. Each "X" and "O" block measures 15'', making this quilt 30'' square. This was a quick and fun project that I completed in a single day, all from my stash I'm proud to say as I'm always trying to pick away at that!

I enhanced my mantle with a garland I made using felt balls that I purchased from Hello May Pole and some punched out hearts. This too was a quick and rewarding project, one that could easily be made with youngsters if you're looking for a family activity.

The Big Love quilt making process yields some quite usable scraps. I could never imagine throwing these little HST remnants in the trash, so I made this bonus "Imprisoned Heart" table topper.

Add a couple hugs and kisses mug rugs and the ensemble is complete! Now we're ready for a bitter cold Valentine's day of indoor activities and maybe a hot chocolate or two!
