Single Block Quilt Tutorial Series - Turboprop - Part 5, Finished!

Turboprop Quilt Front
The turboprop quilt is finished and has already had its first outing!  It was nice to be able to go to the park today for the photo shoot; the natural light is so helpful in accurately capturing the colors. Black, white and shades of orange are all that were used and I like how they came together. This quilt will be a birthday gift for my niece. Her favorite color is orange so I'm sure that she'll be pleased with it.

Turboprop Quilt Back Flip
The perfect weather we had today cooperated fully during the photo shoot. A gentle breeze came by and provided us with a quick peek of the old fashioned telephone backing. A subtle reminder for my niece to call every once in a while.

Turboprop Quilt Close Up 1
Although the emphasis of this quilt should be in the blades of the turboprop, I find the negative image to be interesting as well. I get a '50's vibe from the skewed quarter square center, it reminds me of a television set that we had when I was growing up.

Turboprop Quilt Close Up 2
Even after making this quilt, I still have an abundance of black and white prints. Perhaps another turboprop quilt is in my future!
