The stretched star quilt is finished and I am quite happy with it! It came together very quickly and without difficulty. I really like the palette, especially since it is not what I would have typically chosen for myself. I was surprised how the pinks and purples lost their girlishness when combined with the oranges.
The high contrast between the center and the point fabrics really makes the stars pop. I think this is a must for the stretched star pattern. Using fabrics of the same value would cause the stars to blend together a little too much for my liking. I
used my long arm to quilt an overall loop de loop pattern, using an orange/red high sheen thread. The more confident I become with free motion quilting, the more I am willing to use a noticeable thread.
A Kona solid cotton fabric was used for the binding, I like how the brilliance of the pink frames the quilt. Much to my surprise, this one is a keeper. I hope that you've enjoyed this tutorial. Feel free to contact me if you need any help with your stretched star quilt!

This is gorgeous! I love your fabrics for the pattern, too. I will have this on my "to do " list!

I found instructions using cut triangles and knew there had to be an easier way to sew this pattern. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
