Earlier this year, I joined the Super Penguin quilt along and began working on a series of paper pieced quilt blocks designed by Ayumi Mills of the Pink Penguin. I added a little but of Halloween flavor to the mix and just finished up a quilted table setting of spooky delights. The set I made includes a table topper, a trivet and three mug rugs.
I do believe I see a slice of pumpkin cheesecake in the Cafe window, and maybe even a piece of salted caramel devils' food cake! Yum, Yum! Hopefully, the kitties on the backing will save some for us after they're finished eating
The mug rugs display green gourd sorbet, licorice ice cream and candy corn soft serve, all "trick" flavors, designed to surprise the palette. Maybe the skeletons on the backing should indulge a bit, they could afford to gain a little weight!
The layer cake featured on the topper is not one of the original Super Penguin designs. I added it to the mix as I needed a 6th block to round out my table topper. If you'd like to make a layer cake of your own, be my guest and download a free paper piece pattern for your personal use from my Dropbox link.
Happy Halloween!!!

Very cool! I like how you have quilted them, too.
Love your quilted table setting. Thanks for sharing the layer cake :)
Fun idea, they look so different in these fabrics, and very Halloween-like. I love all the details, too, like the little pumpkin topping the sorbet :)
Very creative...I especially love that green faced baker!
I love your work and am always inspired by your clean modern color choices. Thanks so much for the cake design - it is exactly what I need for a new wall hanging for the office!
Love the cake pp!
