Once again inspired by the work of another quilter, I made a few mug rugs to give as gifts to my family members who visited for the Easter weekend. Quirky Granola Girl's Pastiche Bee mossy nest block seemed so fitting for the holiday and I just had to make some to give away, and a few to keep for myself as well.
The nest was made using strips cut from my brown stash; a little green was thrown in to emulate moss. I had the robin's egg blue fabrics on hand as well. A nice little scrap busting project.
The binding was cut on the bias, a necessity for finishing the curved perimeter. I folded the binding fabric on the bias and ran it through my Go Baby strip cutter, it worked like a charm.
Happy Easter!

So lovely for spring...these are adorable!!!
What a lovely idea!
Really nice and good idea of modern rugs.
Just came back to this post to see the details again, because they are so pretty. I just noticed that tip on cutting the bias binding with the Go Baby cutter. GREAT IDEA! Now if only I can remember that long enough to try it! I actually have the cutter and the right die.
Very Cool! I love Rugs too!
