I'm continuing on my mission to make each of my family members a flannel backed quilt for Christmas this year. Even though my family is relatively small, I'm feeling a bit of pressure from the deadline. I have to move quickly to pull this off. This newest quilt will again be made entirely from my stash. I've cut 5 1/2" squares, which will be sewn together in a brick pattern, (running bond). 12 columns by 18 rows of the 5" finished squares will make a quilt about the size of a twin sized sheet, (approx. 60" x 90").
This quilt will be given to my niece. She loves animals, especially the furry ones, and I loved the turquoise, orange and magenta color combination used in the flannel sheet backing. Off to the design wall for arranging.

New follower, will be checking out your blog! I love to quilt, and need to add more to my Shabby blog, hope to have you visit!
What fabulous animals. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.
Just recently discovered your blog and can't stop coming back to see these wonderful animals! Did you use someone else's pattern or create your own? I would love to make them. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Hi Margie. The animals are printed on a flannel sheet that I bought to use for the backing. They do look like they are pieced, that's why I think I liked them so much too!
