With our company gone, things are once again normal. I can resume making all the messes I want, taking over the dining room table when I want and not concerning myself about keeping the house neat and tidy. Sounds like the perfect opportunity for a new project! So does the fact that my sister and my soon to be favorite brother-in-law will be getting married in September. Sounds like it's time to make a wedding quilt!

I'm using fat quarters from my Lancaster stash to make a half square triangle quilt. Rather than cutting the squares first then sewing them together individually, I've been sewing them together "en masse", with a 1/4" seam on each side of the diagonal of the squares that I drew on the fabric. Once sewn, I used my scissors to cut apart the squares. Next, I'll rotary cut apart the half square assemblies, press and trim. Lots of work still to do but I have plenty of time between now and the wedding.
