Gridded index cards are a great tool to use when planning your patchwork project. You can accurately scale your design, plan your yardage cuts and keep your ideas neat and tidy until ready for use. I need to get that information out of my head and onto paper so I can save my memory for other things! Having a hard copy record of my original intentions allows me to dive right in when my fabric arrives without having to rethink the process.
I fell in love with Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers a few months before it was on the market. I planned this baby quilt on my index cards and waited patiently for production. Now that my fabric has arrived, I'm ready to implement, relying on my trusted notes.
